Hi gang, well after my last crash trying new moves, she is ready to fly. I put on the Hobbyking 3D PRO CF blades, they are great very little tape to balance them and no tracking adjustments and I did not have to file down the head of the blades. As soon as the wind stop blowing so hard I'll take her up and retrim and them back to learning more moves. |

Good job... Just remember. Take your time and don't try to get ahead of yourself. Learn something and then practice it till it's boring and you can do it without thinking about it. Then move to the next thing. You won't regret it. |

I can tell you from first hand experience it pays to slow down and take your time. I was getting all caught up in the 3D stuff and I was doing alright, but only because I knew a little of the basics to help. I have since taken a huge step back, and am currently working on all the basics. I mean everything, upright in all directions, inverted in all directions. I fly circuts in different directions and then refill the tank and do it again. I can say that after 3 weeks I see a huge improvement and so do others at the field with me. I even did a couple of new moves that I have seen, and always wondered how they were performed. And I did them by accident moving from one manuver to another, they just flowed.
So take your time, master the basics, and you will be rewarded..
Glad to hear you are with a club. That will help you too. It is amazing what the kudos from other pilots can do for your attitude.
Keep on doing what your doing.... |

Well after about 6 weeks from the last bad crash, I finely got the T-Rex flying the way I like it to handle. Had to ask a couple question from the best heli pilot in my club about pitch curves and throttle curves. But after 8 battrey packs of testing she is flying great, that's great for my flying skills and style.
Here is my setup
N-TH 0%,42%,62%,82%,100%
N-PI 39%,46%,50%,75%,100%
Thanks to everyone on this site who gave me advice, now it's time to fly high and do side-in hovers right and left. |

Expo is one of those things that is a personal setting.
With both of my 450's I did not like it. I always felt like I was chasing the heli and not in direct control of it. I feel that the HS65mg's are not fast enough to warrant needing expo, but again that is just my experience.
Now with both of my nitros I had to use expo, being the servos are .07 in speed, when you get nervous and your hands shake, you can watch it in the heli. They are that fast. |

I use 20% expo and 90% D.R. on aile & elev in normal throttle mode and 10% expo/100% D.R. in idle up. I also use 80% expo on the rudder in all flight modes. Makes it easier to keep rudder from changing much when working thee collective.
It's all about what works for you and what you are flying. |

DT, that's what the other club member told me. He said that I have to set the pitch curve, throttle curve, and expo setting to my own liking. And that is what I did, I started with the first settings and then I would test fly those's setting, and after 8 battrey packs I tweaked the numbers to until I was very happy with the way the heli was flying. |
