Post subject: Pitch and Throttle curve question |
|
|
In my T-REX 450 Sport manual on page 20 it shows pitch and throttle curves for general flight and 3d flight. Now my question is if I set my servo horns with the throttle stick at center for 0 deg. pitch using Finless vidoes on Helifreak.com. How can I set the pitch at 0 deg. with the throttle stick at 0 degrees like it shows in the manual under general flight. Do you use just the TX to do this are do you have to change the servo horn setting. All answers will be appreciated. |

Hi Old Man Flyer,
Yes, you just set the curves in the Tx.
The pitch curves are dependant on the throttle stick position as are the throttle curves. When you switch from Normal to Idle Up the demands on the servos and ESC are set by the Tx. This is how the two very different responses are formed.
The zero pitch at mid stick is vital as it marks the change in Idle Up from Inverted to Upright flight. Therefore, as you move into Idle Up while in a hover, there must be no change of pitch as this could cause a quite unstable reaction. Many people like to have an increase in power when switching at this point, which will give increased lift but without the problems of a sudden increase in pitch. (It lets them know that they are in Idle Up.) |

Hi OldMan Flyer,
Thanks for that comment, Portugal is fine now, just had the wettest winter on record, but we're back to clear skys and 33ºC in the shade. Into shorts again at last .
Heading for the May Day celebrations in the hills today.
You haven't said where you are. Useful to know if you want a supplier recommendation. |

Hi OldManFlyer,
Good move to stay with Radds. Weather seems to have been terrible all over the world lately. We're alright here now, just need the wind to drop.
Do you think you could put "Deptford, NJ. USA" into your profile it's always handy to know as I said before. |
