T-REX 450 tail wags

My T-REX 450 tail's is wagging! It was fine until I did some maintenence on the tail boom (replaced it) and now the tail is wagging. I tried setting the gain the the gyro and now have it up to +40% and it still wags. In fact, the more I turn up the gain, the more it wags. When the gain is low, the the tail doesn't hold and the nost drifts right.

Does anyone know a fix? It's driving me crazy.

I am using the Hitec HB56 servo and Futaba gy401 gyro.

Almost 100% of the time, tail wags occur because the gyro gain is set too high. The gyro gain is how much the gyro tries to correct for tail movements. You can read this article for more information about the subject.

The way you fix this is to lower the gain. Keep lowering the gain until the wag stops. Don't over do it though, other wise the tail won't hold well and the nose will drift.

Another probable cause is the tail boom being loose or the belt being loose.

It was the gyro gain. I now set it at +20 and it's steady.

ีummm.. the gain shouldn't be that low. Maybe you've got a mechanical problem of some type. Also, check that the tail ball link is set on the first screw on the tail servo, otherwise you'll get a low servo/gyro resolution.

ummm I think it's healthier if the gain is in the +30ish range.

Whenever I go to fly my blade cx2 down stairs I dont know why but when I take off and i am 1 foot above the ground it would be a miracle for it to hover there withoug drifting a certainw ay mine seems like you have too think hard when hovering too keep it in a 3 feet circle. And what is the nob on the top right controler of the blade cx2?
