Hi Platinum,
Thanks for the explanation. Did a complete overhaul of my Big Lama chassis after a blade strike crash.
Question: How the hell do you get the gear "B" on the new outer shaft without hitting (ok, tapping) it with a hammer ? Is there some sort of a special trick ? To me, using a hammer is not acceptable |

The answer is I used the old outer shaft for my illustration. If the new one rather fit, I think you may try a little bit sand it out.
Thanks for your notation.

If you can expose the spot where the set screw was tightened against the shaft then what I did was use a very fine diamond file to smooth it out. Then once I did get it apart I used 12000 grit sand paper to polish. Thats right 12000. I use it to polish plastic after I turn it on the lathe. Makes it clear as glass. Anyways its hard to get the parts off cause they tightened the screws way too much at the factory. I had to just keep turning the gear and shaft back and forth till it finally smoothed out enough to come off then I polished it and replaced. All the set screws are like that.

The inner shaft B set. The part that holds the blade grips for the lower rotors. Don't know why its called that since its on the larger outer shaft. Anyways on my Lama the two tiny screws that hold it in place stripped out so I just replaced it. Took it out for a spin late last evening. No wind and just a beautiful night. The problem of the heli tourqe to the right was solved. I thought it was a motor problem.
