Hello tigers69 and welcome to the forum.
Can you tell us which helicopter you've got?

Just found one on Amazon.co.uk their bigger than I envisaged.
It ought to sit in hover. If brand new, consider returning it to the vendor.
As a 3.5 channel heli without swash plate, there no way to trim controls to counter side-wise drifting.
With that design, the centre of gravity is important, check by suspending the heli by the top rotor blade holder close to the main shaft. Do so with that top rotor alined with the body and then across. The heli should hang vertically in either orientation.
Check the positioning of the battery.
