We need more info about the heli epic elf,

A link is best if you have one, as it is you could have anything and the possible answers to the problem are many.

Ok got it,

So we're looking at a 3 channel co-axial.

First check that the motors are driving the maingears. No dust, grit or slip in the drive.

If all is well, then the most likely problem is a bent part.

Check for bends on the:
1. Mainshaft.
2. Inner shaft.
3. Fly bar

You will have to dismantle the heli to do this. Take out the shafts and roll them on a sheet of glass to check for bends. If they do not roll smoothly then new parts is the only solution.

This is a very technical hobby, there are no short-cuts.

Tom.

Can you elaborate on what exactly you've tried? How did taking it apart and examining everything work out?

When you say it won't hover, are both A and B blades spinning up? What sort of power? Batteries?

Bit difficult to help without some symptoms and qualification.

Hi epicelf1,

By the sounds of it you have a bent shaft, either inner or outer, unfortunatley RC Helicopters are a very maintenance intensive hobby, if you do not have the confidence to pull them apart and fix them, there is very little we can do for you.

If it is not flying now you can not make it any worse, try repairing it, it is not that hard.

Hi epicelf,

Admiral is quite right there on all counts. You must be able to repair the heli or face very high repair bills from your local hobby shop.

We used to have a motto in the RAF "Fix it or ruin it" (The 'ruin' word was put too crudely for this public forum but fitted better with 'fix'. Just use your imagination!)

Most of us spend more time on the bench fixing than we do flying, it really is a major part of the hobby. Even my RC sail boat requires regular maintenance as the water gets into rudder tubes and will lock up the control.
