Hi all,
I have a Walkera 5G4 with 4-channel Tx.
I bought a USB cable so I can play a bit with FMS. This works fine on my second PC running XP, but my primary PC runs Vista64 and I run into some problems. I am hoping to get this working on my primary PC, as it has an excellent graphics card and much faster CPU, for when I start getting into the bigger software simulators.
I have googled on this topic, and have seen both positive and negative reports on this topic. My suspicion is that could be made to work.
Some troubleshooting on my part shows the following issue: Vista detects my controller, and installs two 6-axes joysticks as seen through
FMS->Controls->Joystick interface->Ressources
If I number these channels 1 through 12, the following holds:
Joystick 2 on the Tx operates on channels (5&7) and 8, and works fine in FMS. Joystick 1 on the Tx operates on channels 9 and 12. And since FMS only shows 8 channels on the "Mapping/Calibration" screen, it does not allow the use of channels 9 and 12.
On XP, two 4-axes joystick drivers are installed as opposed to 6-axes drivers.
I suspect the solution would be to get Vista64 to install 4-axes drivers for the Tx rather than 6-axes drivers. But how?
...or any other ideas?
Many thanks -- Roelof
